      1. The Principal of the College, Dr. Balendra Kr. Das has delivered lectures in different colleges of Assam , acted as resource  person in Academic Staff College, G.U. etc. His articles and poems have also got published in various news papers and journals.

Dr Das, has published quite a number of books in Assamese, science-related children literature as well as poems with the following titles:

        2. Manuhar Kabita, ABCD-ir Asamiya Kabita, Manuh Samipeshu, Manuhar Prithivi

Dr. Das has presented a paper on ‘Studies on Ultra Surface Structure of some Rheophilic Fish’ in the 94th session of Indian Science Congress Association’s Conference held on 2nd to 8th January, 2007 at Annamalai University, Tamilnadu.Dr. Balendra Kr. Das has been elected as the conveynor of the Guwahati Chapter of Indian Science Association, Kolkata for 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.Dr. Balendra Kr. Das has been elected as Secretary of Assam College Principal’s Council for 2007 to 2009.


    1. Namita Devi, selection Grade Lecturer in Economics of our college has been awarded Ph.D in 2010 on the topic ‘Micro Finance and Economic Empowerment of Weaker Sections’ under the guidance of Dr. K.K. Barman, Head of Economics , Department G.U.


    1. Ira Choudhury of the Economics Dept. and Marie Kalita of the English Dept. had actively participated in a five days workshop on capacity building of Women managers in higher education organized by K.C.Das Commerce college from 16th-20th November 2009.


    1. Gaganjyoti Bora from the Department of Political Science and Saiful Haque from the Department of commerce,  had participated in the faculty development program  organized by Federation of Universities on 12th Oct. 2009 at Guwahati.


    1. Mrinmoyee Bhattacharyya from the Department of Economics , had participated in a U.G.C. sponsored National Seminar on “Globalisation & Development  of Backward Area with reference to North East India” organized by the Department of Economics, T.H.B. College in collaboration with SARATHI, Jamugurihat and presented a paper on ‘Role of Sericulture in Rural Development of Assam on 18th and 19th Sept.2009.


    1. Prof Jogeswar Barman (Department of Management, Commerce) was conferred Doctor of Philosophy for his  thesis on Socio-economic Condition of Womwn Workers in the Tea Industry of Assam.


    1. Prof Bijoylakshmi Das (Department of Assamese) was approved as lyricist of All India Radio (Prasar Bharati), Guwahati. She was selected a music director of Rajashree and Karengghar mobile theatre. One of her albums as a singer, named Hits of Rajashree was released recently.


    1. Prof Manisha Bhattacharya was awarded a special prize in the All Assam Short Story Writing Competition organized by the Bonagaigaon Press Club.


    1. Ms Aparajita Barua of the Political Science Department has been awarded PhD by Guwahati University for her  thesis titled ” The Role of NGOs in the Development of Women in Assam ( A Case Study of Kamrup District) in 2008 “, under the guidance of Dr Ms Anuradha Dutta (Deptt. of Pol. Sc. Guwahati University)
    2. Ms Namita Devi of the Economics Department and Ms Yashodhara Medhi of the English Department are also working on their theses for PhD.


    1. Prof Yashodhara Medhi has published a novel based on the life of Dr Mukunda Madhava Sharma with the title Janmadinar Upahar.


    1. Prof. Manisha Bhattacharya, Head (Education Deptt) has been falicitated at Rajjik Sishu Samaroh by Gramya Sishu Vikash Parishad on 22-10-2007 for the article ‘Psychological and Physical Development of Children’ published in the college magazine.


    1. Ms. Bijoylakshmi Das, HOD (Assamese) has received a ‘Moon Light Media’ Best Music Director Award in Assamese Mobile Theatre.Ms. Das has also bagged the prestigious Y’s Men Mobile Award 2007-08 for Best Music Direction.


    1. Prof. Mrinmoyee Bhattacharya of Economics Deptt. has published a paper on ‘Globalization and Liberisatio, a Perspective View in the Context of North East India’ in NIRD souvenir. Ms. Bhattacharya was invited by the Dakshin Kamrup Girls’ College to deliver a classroom lecture on ‘Agriculture Marketing and Sustainable Agriculture’ on 27-09-2007.


    1. Dr. Archana Bora of Assamese Deptt. was invited to be the Resource Person in a Seminar organised by ‘Asom Sankar Sangha’ in 2007 on the topic ‘Madhab Deb as a Litterateur’


  1. Ms. Parul Baishya Das of Economics Deptt. has received her M.Phil Degree from Madurai Kamraj University securing 1st Class. The topic of her dissertation was ‘A Study of Micro-Enterprises in Dangtoll Community Development Block of Assam’.
